3 peaks/ 3 days

In November of 2015 I took on a classic Andean challenge of climbing three Ecuadorian Volcanos in three days. Day one started with an head-pounding ascent of Illiniza North (5126m) and Sur (5248m). We had flown in from sea-level the day before and the altitude-induced suffering was at an all-time high. On day two we topped out on Cayambe (5790m) under clear skies and shaky legs and quickly descended to make the 6 hour drive to Chimborazo. That night we set off for the summit of Chimborazo (6268m) at 11 PM and broke trail for the next nine hours. We finally topped off on the Whymper summit at 8 AM on day 3, completely exhausted.
